UNC Election Information

The Spring General Election elects the Student Body President, the Undergraduate and Graduate Presidents, the Carolina Athletic Association President, the Residence Hall Association President, the Senior Class President and Vice President, and all Undergraduate Senators. The timeline on due dates if you wish to run in any of these elections is below. Please note that the BOE has used the flexibility given to it by the Joint Code in Chapter 4, Article I, Section 400, Subsection B7 to alter the timeline mandated by the Code to accommodate for the long weekend of February 10-13.

By 12:00AM (midnight) January 24th: Training mechanism and candidate registration form made available by the BOE on HeelLife.

By 11:59PM January 31st: Ballot petitions due.

By 12:00PM (noon) February 1st: Initial list of certified candidates published by the BOE.

By 12:00PM (noon) February 2nd: Ballot petition corrections due.

By 12:00PM (noon) February 3rd: Final list of certified candidates published by the BOE.

From 12:00AM (midnight) February 8th to 11:59PM February 9th: Early voting.

February 10th-13th: Long weekend.

From 12:00AM (midnight) to 11:59PM February 14th: Election day.
